One of the strange things about Web3 is that the technology has continued to evolve—even as much of the public conversation about it has stayed frozen in time.
Many of the assumptions people still hold were understandable a few years ago, when speculation dominated headlines and experimentation happened very publicly. But as the noise faded, the underlying systems kept developing—often quietly, and often outside the spotlight.
This issue isn’t about defending Web3 or persuading skeptics. It’s about clearing away a few persistent myths that no longer reflect how these technologies are actually being used today.
Not everything has changed. But enough has that some of the loudest arguments are now aimed at a version of Web3 that largely no longer exists.
